Economic Justice

This initiative’s efforts strengthen collaboration between labor unions and structurally silenced women groups in formal sports to influence economic justice policies across all national sports governing bodies and the ministry of sports so as to build safer, more inclusive sports workspaces for everyone. We believe that sports clubs are decent workplaces and can play a unique role in supporting structurally silenced women to benefit from their workman’s gains, improve their standards of living, increase their influence in communities, build sustainable communities and contribute to sustainable development goals. This program further increases the practice of economically just workplace policies by educating members on labor rights, labor laws, and an intersection between gender-based violence, discrimination, sexism, and financial independence, Further still through this program members can advocate for their sports participation rights, equal pay, change narratives around femininity and masculinity, decent work environments , gendered sports and against institutionalized gender discrimination which we believe are some of the barriers of women’s involvement in sports as a money making avenue.
